What to Know about the CMA Fest 2008

The CMA Festival not only allows the attendees to hear 40 hours of concerts from the top artist, but it gives each person the opportunity to meet the stars and band members themselves. This interaction is what has made Fan Fair a hit for the past 30 years.

"Where else can you go and here the top country artist perform on stage, and then get an autograph and picture made with them latter on in the week. I love Fan Fair, I've been coming for 5 years and I have plans for the next 5 years to be here in June" Kate Lambert Boone, NC

During the daytime the convention center, Riverfront Park performances, and the Sports Zone at the coliseum are open for attendees to visit. The convention center "Meet and Greet" offers the Fan Fair goers the opportunity to have pictures taken with their favorite country stars as well as get their autograph and mingle with them for a short period of time.

The Riverfront Park is a first come first serve seating ampatheater, overlooking the Cumberland River on First Ave. The afternoon concerts are lined with some of the brightest up and coming performers and biggest groups in country music. With the likes of Alabama, Confederate Railroad, and many other top groups performing from 10am to 4:30pm everyday this is a can't miss venue.

The Sports Zone was added in 2003 and has been a hit for the past five years. Bass Pro Shops Exhibit, DEI Race Team, and many Titans football players will grace the sports zone with their presence. Also, Andy Griggs holds his annual archery tournament every year at the Sports Zone.

If you are a night owl the CMA Fest should be right up your alley. The nightly concerts at the coliseum is where the Fan Fair headliners are going to be playing. If you are coming to see Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Keith Urban or many of the other top stars more than likely they will be playing at the coliseum. Everybody has a reserved seat for these performances and the best seats are going to be on the main floor.

The evening performances will end at 10:30 pm and then everybody goes to the various downtown clubs to end their night. This is known as the After Hours performances, and different performers from Fan Fair will join the boot-skootin country music fans for some cold beverages and good times. Beware, sometimes the After Hours parties can go until 2 in the morning.

If you are a country music fan you need to come to CMA Fest/ Fan Fair at least once. We promise you will have a ball.
